1. download whatever possible from the old site, http://y-knot.co.nf/index.htm, especially the paragraph descriptions and any alternate words for the craft in other languages, links to experts. Image search links probably easiest to just recreate. Concentrate on beads, embroidery, lace.
2. go through each level 2 to standardize level 3 name references. These do not have to be the same as my Pinterest board names. Move (carefully) subject links in level 2 or move page links. Only then can I DONE
3. use existing page link lists to create the site map page. These links actually transfer over with the titles, but first I will need to set up a sub-list within the main list. DONE
4. I have created a few new boards since I started this project. Do I want to add them now? Am I crazy? Don't add yet, but I put links to dictionary and notes on the Pinterest pages.
5. The Pinterest boards are refusing to move with my current browser. Maybe try the latest versions at BCC? Do I have too many boards?
6. Start referencing my dictionary on every Pinterest board that deals with crafts. Perhaps they need to be specific, 3rd level references, or maybe they should be general until the 3rd levels are done? DONE, used general site so could easily count visits from Pinterest.
7. Activate my Level 2 blogs on Blogger so they can be searched for. DONE
8. Note: often alternate names for crafts can be found in Pinterest board names, or at least deduced and then verified through Google Translate. It's especially important to have these alternate names when the craft originated in a particular region.
9. Make my website for essays and link to here. Write the first essay, plan future topics on an associated page.
Jan 4, 2017 notes:
Add details on reasons for this site: inspiration across crafts, etched metal inspiring stamping/multi-media arts, others....
My initial notes:
Dec 28, 2016: There can be a brief general intro to the topic.
screenshot of each topic within
find or make a graphic separator [type <hr /> in html editor]
include a link to the Pinterest topic.
make a new Blog entry for the details, link to them as they are created
or, perhaps, make new entries on separate pages, if the pages can be listed along the side instead of across the top.
Can you make this first post always stick to the beginning of the blog? No, not in Blogger. There are hacks but they have problems.
Use this code for blue curved borders around text:
<div class="leveloneintro" style="background-color: #99ccff; border-radius: 1em; border: thin double rgb(0, 107, 132); margin-left: 7px; margin-right: 7px; padding: 0.5em;">
My divisions below are an artificial means of teasing apart all the different types of beadwork possible. The same beading stitches might be used in a bezel, a beaded object or a geometric object.</div>
adapt similar for different level headings.
Level 1: done, except for hr's and deactivating images.
Level 2:
1. add new photos
2. add descriptive titles above
3. add hr's
4. deactivate photos
4.5 make live link from L2 to matching L3, above photo
5. move order around to match side panel, or not?
6. add optional direct links to Pinterest boards, per beads page? Or should people be made to go on to 3rd level? Maybe make the direct links only in the index page, maybe make the index page a ms word chart first: Title/3rd level link/Pinterest Link
all breadcrumb links on level 2seem to be working.
Level 3:
1. add new image links
2. add specified Pinterest board links for images
3. list of automatic categories cut and pasted
4. go to old website and copy what you can
Fix backgrounds and theme colors to be more attractive. Maybe multicolored background to go with all themes?
